Heavenly Father,
We thank You today for the godly women you have placed in our lives who fill the role of Mother in one form or another. Whether they are our own biological mothers, women who have been motherly figures, mentors, wives, teachers, sisters, friends, step-mothers, or mothers-in-law, we thank You for them. For their love, guidance, wisdom, prayers, and the examples of dignity, strength, character, and faith which they have instilled into our hearts, we thank You.
Bless them all, each according to their own need and hold them closely in Your mighty right hand.
For those who have longed to hold the title of Mom, we pray You hear the cries of their hearts, and for those whose children You hold in Your hands now, we pray you comfort them as only You can. For those who are missing their mothers today, Lord, we pray Your presence fills every void and eases every ache they feel.
Thank You for Your Word which promises that just as a mother comforts her child, You comfort us! You comfort us in our overwhelm, in our tiredness, in our yearning, grief, and struggle. Thank You, that as much as a mother loves her child, You love us so much more! And that as much as a mother gives of herself for her children, You gave us everything when You gave up Jesus for us!
And just as our mothers helped us learn to walk as babies, help us learn to walk in faith, according to Your will for our lives, and all for Your glory. In Jesus’ name.
